A message to my 14 year old self.

Dear 14 year old me,
You are in upper school now, and soon will start getting ready for your GCSE's, lots of revision and lots of information being drilled into your brain. You have been given your predicted grades, they are fairly average, so you aren't feeling very motivated right now to push above the 'average' mark. I know what you are like, you will settle for those average predicted grades, and just accept that's it so just give an 'average' amount of effort. I do wish you would put more effort in, although you will smash the crap out of those average grades, and do way better than your predicted grades... so i am pretty proud of you, just think what you could have got though. I know some subjects don't feel very important right now, but trust me it's so annoying having a few grades on that form that are below the others when you know you could have avoided it.

Idiots at school. Well this could be a whole post on its own really actually no it could be a whole blog on its own! So here is a little bit of advice....fuck them all. When you leave school, you never have to see them again.

Don't worry about loosing friends when you leave school, i know you don't care about leaving school as you aren't much of a fan and i know you will skip merrily out of those school gates with a big smile on your face! (this happens). In regards to friends though. Do not worry! You stay friends with your true friends, there's a lot of people you don't see all the time but when you see them its great...and you pretty much stay in contact with them all. So don't worry to much!

You think about staying at 6form! I am sooooooooo glad you don't. A teacher will give you some decent advise and thank god...you do take it and go to college. This is where you will have the best times ever.

Approaching college, and its interview/ audition, you are one nervous nora! Chill out, you do fine.
All the people there really help you out, and make you feel comfortable!

You worry about being on your own at college, you have your best friend going with you which makes things so much easier and then you end up making some of the best friends you could ever have, and are still friends with them now!

You do start to get pretty anxious and stressed out throughout college, you can't always handle the constant criticism and being put down along with the work load and nerves of performing. Please just be calm, the nerves just make everything worse and really hold you back and stop you from being the best you can be.

You have a lot of shit through college, but trust me the good times you have make up for it! So savor those times, because you are at your happiest during college.

Stop worrying about boyfriends. You want one i know you do, all your friends have boyfriends, except from tash and jose...you guys will spend a lot of 'single' meals together, and you love them. Who cares if you don't have a boyfriend? you have some crackin times with all your friends before you meet him, and then as soon as you stop looking  for someone you will meet someone who is bloody fantastic. <3

See you soon,
Love 20 year old Beth.
